Are you sick of franchise cafés or regular cafés? For
those of you who are tired of franchise cafes or regular cafes, you might be interested in finding same new places where you can be calm and do your study or work without being disturbed. This article introduces you to three unique cafes, how to get there and all about the menus.

Café Dot (Play-mobile Café)

In the Dot Café, various kinds of play mobiles are displayed. The Café Dot is located in Shinchon, near to the Hyundai department store. The owner has collected the mobiles for twenty years since he left the army. Even though he does not sell them, you can enjoy them while treating yourself to coffee and delicious desserts.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Americano is just 2,500 won and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays Dutch coffee is only 3,000 won. Even though he roasts the coffee beans by himself, the prices are very cheap. Also, on Sunday, he discounts Americano and Dutch coffee as he does on the week days. In addition, he holds a flea market sometimes. People can buy things at cheaper prices than in other stores.

Gamabean (Fusion Café)

If you want to feel Korean traditional atmosphere in a western-style café, I recommend a visit to Gamabean. Like the meaning of the name of the café, they roast coffee beans using ‘gamasot’, a traditional cookpot of Korea.
To get there, you have to go out of exit 2 of ‘Ewha Womans University’ station and walk in the direction of Ewha Womans University. It’s in the alley on the way to the school, and not far from the school.
This is the only place where you can enjoy a cup of Dutch coffee made by gamasot. It will be a unique experience to you. A cup of dutch coffee costs 5,000 won. Moreover, if you order a cup of ‘Bingsoo’, you can get a small gamasot-like bowl containing your Bingsoo. A cup of bingsoo costs 5,000 won.
The café is so small that you can feel comfortable when you see the outside of this place first. Its inside is clean and quiet. If you visit there, you can not only feel the unique atmosphere, but also taste delicious coffee and foods.

La Bonne Tarte (Tart Café)

La Bonne Tarte is located near the back gate of Ewha Womans University. This café sells various kinds of tarts and this makes this café unique.
The cook makes the tarts with domestic wheat, anchor butter and pesticide-free products, and does not use trans-fat products like margarine and shortening. Contrary to other tart cafes, this café bakes breads in front of customers, so they can trust what they buy.
Although tarts are made of healthy ingredients, their prices are reasonable at about 4000~6000 won.
In addition to the food, the atmosphere is special. It has a secluded, nice, calm, and cozy atmosphere so that you can study or work without hindrance.

Even though the number of franchise cafés is more than the number of individual cafés, recently the number of individual cafés has been increasing too. Unlike most franchise cafés, they are managed depending on their own, unique themes. If you want to try both unique experiences and delicious coffee and food tastes, visit these places!
